Frame Fitting Guide
A reference guide for UK opticians ordering through the partner portal — measurements, fitting heights, and how to send frames for glazing.
Frame Measurements
Every frame in our catalogue lists three core measurements: lens width (A), bridge width (B), and temple length. These are printed on the inside of the temple arm of any sample frame we supply.
Pupillary Distance (PD)
Record monocular PDs where possible — this is essential for progressive and single-vision glazing jobs. Include near PD for varifocal orders if available. Our lab uses the PD you supply; we do not adjust values.
Fitting Heights for Progressives
For varifocal glazing, we require a fitting height — the vertical distance from the pupil centre to the lowest edge of the lens. Mark the frame on the patient's face, measure from the dot to the bottom of the rim, and include this on the order form.
Frame Material & Adjustment
Our acetate frames can be adjusted with mild heat. Titanium and stainless steel frames can be adjusted cold. If you require pre-glazing adjustment to a specific bridge width, note this in your order comments.
Sending Frames for Glazing
If you are supplying customer frames for glazing (not frames from our catalogue), pack them securely with your order reference clearly labelled. Include the prescription and any lab notes with the physical frame.
